Near Lake Hylia, Link taught a song to Bonooru, a scarecrow. Seven years later, when Link reunited with Bonooru and played the same song, the scarecrow Pierre appeared. "To thank you for playing me that soul-shaking melody, I'd like to help you out," Pierre said, adding that Link should play the song when he sees "straw dancing in the wind." "That'll be my sign to head your way," Pierre said. "As soon as those funky notes hit my ears, I'll rush on over!"
