As a child
Scene 1 · Kokiri Forest
Long ago, there was a land called Hyrule,
created by beings of supreme divinity.
At the very edge of this kingdom,
there lay a small forest.
Within it, an ancient, solitary tree quietly
watched over the inhabitants of the forest.
These forest dwellers were called the Kokiri.
Each had a fairy companion, and they lived
out their innocent lives in these woods.
However, there was one particular boy...
who did not have a fairy.
Scene 2 · Kokiri Forest
It would seem...I have but a little time left...
My heart feels heavy. Soon I will no longer be
able to protect the forest. I must ensure its safety.
I will entrust everything to the child.
Little Navi, where are you?
Yes, Great Deku Tree. I'm here!
How can I be of service?
Ah, there you are.
I have something to ask of you.
I hope it is not too much.
There is someone with whom I must
speak. Bring this young one to me.
Of course. But...who is it?
The only child in the forest
without a fairy companion.
His name is Link.
Understood. I'll go get him!
Link! Hey, Link, wake up!
The Great Deku Tree is asking for you.
Come on—you gotta wake up!
Come ON.
What does the Great Deku Tree
want with this sleepyhead, anyway?
Finally, you're awake!
I'm Navi the fairy!
The Great Deku Tree himself
asked me to come get you.
He said he wants to talk to you.
So, come on. Let's go together!
Scene 3 · Kokiri Forest
Hello, Link!
Scene 4 · Kokiri Forest
Aha! I knew it!
Your very own fairy.
Finally, a fairy came to you!
I can't tell you how happy this makes me, Link!
Hey there, little one, what's your name?
Wow, Link! You get to meet with the Great
Deku Tree!
It must be important...
Every Kokiri has their very own fairy companion.
And now, maybe that day has come for you too.
That means you're a fully-fledged Kokiri now!
Anyway, you'd better hurry to go see him.
A meeting with the Great Deku Tree... So exciting!
I'm Navi! The Great Deku Tree asked me to
come fetch Link...so I have!
Scene 5 · Kokiri Forest
Great Deku Tree, I have returned.
So I see. Thank you for your help, Navi.
Now then, Link.
I have called you here because I must ask a
favor of you—a task of no small importance.
However, before I speak to that, a question...
Link. I understand that you have been plagued
with nightmares each night...have you not?
Scene 6 · Kokiri Forest
Now then. Listen carefully to my words.
I hold a most precious object—one that has been
entrusted to me since ancient times.
This object is one of the key elements to peace
throughout Hyrule...
It is known as the Spiritual Stone of the Forest.
Hm? The Spiritual Stone of the Forest...
However...an evil being has appeared. He seeks
to use the stone for his own dark purposes...
Quietly, he unleashed a fearsome creature
deep in my roots, in an attempt to steal the
Spiritual Stone.
Oh no! It's inside you, Great Deku Tree?!
Indeed. Unbeknownst to me, the fell beast grew,
gaining strength... By the time I realized it, there
was naught I could do.
Link, I call upon you now. I must protect the
Spiritual Stone of the Forest at all costs.
To that end, I beseech you.
Please... Search my depths, and together with
Navi, defeat the monster lurking within.
I see. I thought this may be the case.
Scene 7 · Kokiri Forest
Ah, you've returned. You've done well defeating
the creature, Link.
Thanks to your help, I was able to protect the
Spiritual Stone—the Kokiri Emerald.
You have my heartfelt gratitude, young one.
Well...
That is because the Kokiri Emerald is a key to
reaching the Sacred Realm. And the Sacred
Realm is where the Triforce is located.
Hmmm. Link, Navi.
The time has come to tell you about the Triforce...
and the origins of Hyrule.
Sacred Realm? The...Triforce?
But, Great Deku Tree...why was that monster after
the Kokiri Emerald?
Scene 8 · Kokiri Forest
The Triforce, left behind in the
Sacred Realm. This golden symbol
holds the very power of the goddesses.
And, now... An evil has appeared,
yearning after that power.
In a bid to reach the Sacred Realm,
he unleashed that beast within me,
hoping to secure the emerald I protect.
This man of whom I speak, he is the one
who haunts your dreams each night, Link.
Scene 9 · Kokiri Forest
In the beginning, there was no order,
and life had yet to take shape.
Here, in the chaos that would become Hyrule,
the three golden goddesses descended.
Din, the goddess of power.
Nayru, the goddess of wisdom.
Farore, the goddess of courage.
Scene 10 · Kokiri Forest
Din...
With her mighty flaming arms, she cultivated
the soil and created the red lands.
Nayru...
With her great wisdom, she poured her knowledge
into the land, bringing law to the world.
Farore...
With her rich heart, she breathed into being
all life that would abide by the law.
Scene 11 · Kokiri Forest
The three great goddesses, their labors
completed, returned to where they dwell.
At the point from which they departed,
a golden symbol remained.
Since that time, this sacred symbol has become
the foundation of the world's principles.
And its resting place became the Sacred Realm.
Scene 12 · Kokiri Forest
The Triforce will grant the wish of anyone who
holds it.
Even if it is the wish of a wicked heart...
Link, I will entrust to you this Spiritual Stone—
the Kokiri Emerald.
Huh?!
You have seen that man many times in your
dreams. And you have defeated the creature
he unleashed.
Now. It is time.
This is because you are a child of destiny. It is
your fate that you should protect the Triforce
from the evil one.
Scene 13 · Kokiri Forest
The Kokiri Emerald must never fall
into the hands of that evil one...
And now, I am at my most frail. The monster
he set upon me—it has corrupted my body
beyond all hope of recovery.
What...
I have protected the Kokiri Emerald, even if it
meant sacrificing my life for it. That intention is
what has allowed me to survive as long as I have...
However...it would seem that now
my time is finally coming to an end.
My dear Navi... You and Link have successfully
defeated the creature that was within me...
The two of you... Ah, you make an
excellent team... The time has come.
You must press on together.
Link... With the Kokiri Emerald in your
care...make your way to Hyrule Castle...
In the castle, you will find the princess chosen by
divine powers... Go to her. She will be your guide.
Together...you and the princess...
must protect this precious world...
It is now up to you...
Link... Navi...
Farewell...
Oh...Great Deku Tree...
Alright... We'd better go, Link. To Hyrule Castle!
Scene 14 · Kokiri Forest
I'm going to go check on the Great Deku Tree.
You head on home, OK?
Oh! Link...
HEY! YOU!
What happened to the Great Deku Tree? Is he...
Did he...wither away?
No... There's no way. It can't be true...
He IS still alive, right? Right?!
The Great Deku Tree is gone...and...and, Link, you
have to...
But, you can't... Don't do this, Link...
You and I... We... Kokiri aren't allowed to leave
the forest... Remember?
Remember?!
...
Link...
You... You're leaving... You're really leaving,
aren't you?
Either way...we've got to get to Hyrule Castle...
So that's why... We've got to go now...
It's not safe—who knows what kind of monsters
are lurking around.
You have to leave the forest now... Is that
really true?
Scene 15 · Kokiri Forest
I knew it... You're going to leave...
The thing is... I think I always knew. Knew
that you'd leave the forest behind someday.
Oh, Link... Somehow, you are different from us.
You know...even if that much is true...
You're my friend. Forever and ever.
And I'm yours.
I've been working on this for a while
now, hoping to give it to you.
It's finally ready. Will you take it with you?
Thank you... Take good care of it.
Here, I'll show you how to play.
So whenever... Whenever you play your ocarina,
think of the forest—and come back.
Scene 16 · Hyrule Field
Well now, Link. It seems the time has
finally come for your journey to begin.
I am known as Kaepora Gaebora. I am here to
offer you both my assistance and my counsel.
The path ahead will be one marked by many
trials for you to overcome. Destiny, I believe,
has decided that much for you already, lad.
Whether you are successful or not,
however, will be up to you—you alone.
You would do well to remember that.
Scene 17 · Hyrule Field
Well now, Link.
You see this road? It leads all the way to the
castle beyond. And it's not just any castle.
Indeed, it is Hyrule Castle.
There you will meet a certain princess.
Recall the words left behind by the Great
Deku Tree.
On your long journey ahead, there will be times
when you won't know which path to take.
In such moments, you should take a look at
Threads of Time to reflect upon your adventures.
It will help refresh you about what to do.
Now then, I'll fly on ahead. I'll be waiting for you
at Hyrule Castle.
Scene 18 · Hyrule Field
Behold, boy. This is Hyrule. It is a beautiful land
that must always be protected.
The mountain you see in the distance is called
Death Mountain. It is home to the Gorons, who
guard the Spiritual Stone of Fire.
At the foot of that mountain is my homeland—
the home of the Sheikah clan. Kakariko Village.
Before you head up the mountain, you should
speak with the villagers. I imagine they'll have
useful things to share with you.
Whenever you're in a bind, remember the melody
I taught you.
As I mentioned, that song is passed down within
the royal family of Hyrule. It is known only by
those connected with the royal family.
Remember that it will serve as proof of your
own connection to royalty.
The prophecies that Her Highness has seen in her
dreams are certain.
She has accurately predicted the future many
times before.
Even so, she is still very young... It is imperative
that we all do what we can to support her.
I will continue to serve Her Highness entirely.
And you must fulfill the mission she has
entrusted to you.
Well then, be careful as you make your way
out there. First to Kakariko Village and then
to Death Mountain.
Hmmm... The village and the mountain...
Alright, Link! Let's head over to that mountain!
Scene 19 · Hyrule Field
Hoo hoo! Wait right there, Link!
This is Kakariko Village.
Were you not tasked with meeting the princess
of Hyrule?
If you have not yet done so, you should make
your way to the castle.
The mission entrusted to you by the Great Deku
Tree is something only you can do...
You must accomplish it, Link.
Scene 20 · Hyrule Field
Hoo-hooo!
Hello there, Link! Headed somewhere?
Perhaps I should tell you a bit about this part of
the world, since you're here.
Through the rolling fields beyond lie the bountiful
waters of Lake Hylia.
And through that stone archway, you'll find
Gerudo Valley.
The Gerudo thieves dwell within their hideout
there. It's no place for a child such as yourself.
Should you choose to press on, well...that is
entirely up to you.
We met there before, if you recall.
Whatever hardships you may face from this
moment forward, Link, you must never give up.
Hoo-hooo!
You were tasked with meeting Hyrule's princess,
were you not?
If so, you ought to make your way to the castle...
But in any case, Link...Hyrule Castle awaits, so you
ought to make haste in that direction.
Scene 21 · Hyrule Field
Hoo-hooo!
Up here, Link.
Just ahead you will find a lake brimming with
bountiful waters.
It is known as Lake Hylia.
And watching over it, from bottom to shore...
are the water-dwelling Zora.
If you haven't already, take a look at your map.
Everywhere you've visited will appear there.
Remember that...and keep your wits about you
out there, lad, hoo-hooo!
Just a moment there, Link!
You were tasked with meeting Hyrule's princess,
were you not?
If you haven't met the princess yet, you ought to
make your way to the castle...
Don't forget to visit the castle, Link! Hoo-hoo!
Scene 22 · Hyrule Castle
Hoo hoo hooo!
Up here, Link!
Excellent work making it this far, young adventurer.
The princess is in the castle just over yonder.
I wonder... What manner of events await you?
Go forth, but be careful! Hoo hoot!
Scene 23 · Hyrule Castle
Wha... HUH?!
I was sleeping so peacefully... What is it?
Hrm...
Just who are you, kid?
That's right. I'm the owner of Lon Lon Ranch.
Name's Talon.
I came to the castle to deliver milk, but well, I
got sleepy. Next thing ya know, I nodded off.
Oh— Oh NO! I left her all on her own!
I'm gonna get an earful!
Scene 24 · Hyrule Castle
Wh— Who's there?
Um... Who are you?
And how did you get in here in the first place?
Wait a second. Is that...
a fairy?
Could it be...that you are—
I'm sorry.
I haven't properly introduced myself yet.
My name is Zelda, and I am the princess of Hyrule.
And who are you? Won't you tell me your name?
Scene 25 · Hyrule Castle
Link...
How strange... It's my first time hearing your
name, yet it feels so familiar.
This might sound a little odd, but I know you.
You came from the forest. And you carry with
you the Spiritual Stone of that same forest.
Isn't that right?
Yes, that's right!
No...that's not me.
I knew it!
My dreams portend events that come to pass in
real life. It's been happening since I was very small.
They seem to be messages from beyond...
I've seen you in my dreams many times, Link.
I've had a dream where Hyrule is shrouded by
dark, ominous clouds, and the whole world is
cast into darkness...
But then a ray of light appears from the forest,
cutting through the clouds and shining brightly
on to the land.
That light transforms into a young boy with
a fairy. The boy is holding a shimmering
green stone.
So when I saw you, I knew.
I knew the dream was prophetic...and that you
are the messenger from the forest!
Link, as the messenger from my dreams, I must
ask a favor of you.
But first, I want to tell you about a legend.
A legend that has been passed down for
generations among the royal family of Hyrule.
However... This legend is kept secret within the
royal family.
Please don't tell anyone about it, OK?
So the legend goes...
What are you saying, Link? She's got it right!
Scene 26 · Hyrule Castle
The Triforce is imbued with the power of
the goddesses. It grants the one who
touches it whatever their heart desires.
If that person has a pure heart, the
world will be bathed in dazzling light.
In the hands of one with a wicked heart,
the world will be shrouded in darkness.
Therefore, it is forbidden to
touch the Triforce carelessly.
Its power must remain in the
Sacred Realm, peacefully asleep.
Scene 27 · Hyrule Castle
The Triforce grants the wish of whoever
possesses it.
To ensure its safety, the goddesses charged an
ancient sage with its protection.
And so, the sage built the Temple of Time here
in Hyrule.
The Triforce was then secured behind the Door
of Time in the back of the temple.
My ancestors, the Hyrule royal family, inherited
the Temple of Time from the sage.
And in turn, the royal family built Hyrule Castle
here on this land in order to protect the Temple
of Time.
The Door of Time is closed tight—it requires a
series of keys in order to be opened.
To begin with, you'll need the three
Spiritual Stones.
The Spiritual Stone of the Forest—the Kokiri
Emerald you hold—is one of the keys.
The remaining two keys are the Spiritual Stone
of Fire and the Spiritual Stone of Water. Certain
peoples in each region keep watch over them.
There is one more thing required aside from the
Spiritual Stones. It is a secret treasure bestowed
upon the royal family of Hyrule by the sage.
The Ocarina of Time!
If you want to open the Door of Time, you
must offer the three Spiritual Stones and play
the Ocarina of Time.
All of this knowledge has been passed down
within the royal family.
Oh, I shared quite a lot, didn't I? I hope it wasn't
too confusing.
Is there anything else we should speak to further?
About the legend...
Opening the door...
I'm all set.
You want to hear about the legend passed down
within the royal family? Which part?
The Triforce.
The Temple of Time.
The Door of Time.
I'm curious...
Ah, what would you like to know about opening
the door?
The Spiritual Stones?
The Ocarina of Time?
I'm curious...
The temple connects this land with the
Sacred Realm.
And the Sacred Realm is where the
Triforce slumbers.
The Door of Time is in the Temple of Time.
It's sealed tightly shut in order to protect the
Sacred Realm and the Triforce.
The three Spiritual Stones and the Ocarina of
Time are the only means of opening the door.
The Kokiri Emerald you hold is one of the
three Spiritual Stones—the Spiritual Stone of
the Forest.
The remaining two are the Spiritual Stone of Fire
and the Spiritual Stone of Water.
Certain peoples within each region keep watch
over them.
The Ocarina of Time was bestowed upon the
Hyrule royal family by the ancient sage.
It is presently under my protection.
Is there anything else you'd like to ask?
The Triforce.
The Temple of Time.
The Door of Time.
I'm curious...
I'm glad! If you're curious to hear about anything
further, just ask.
So now I'm wondering... Do you want to open the
Door of Time? Do you...want the Triforce?
Well, you see...
I have been keeping close watch over someone.
You see the man with the evil eyes?
That is Ganondorf. He is the leader of the Gerudo.
They hail from the desert at the western edge of
the world.
Though he has obeyed my father thus far, it is
clear to me that his allegiance is not to be trusted.
The black clouds I saw in my dreams... I am
certain they represent him!
I told my father about all of this, but he doubted
my dreams.
Despite that, I can sense it... I can sense that
man's dark ambitions!
That must be why he came to Hyrule Castle... To
make this kingdom—no, the whole world—his.
Link, we are the only ones who can protect
Hyrule right now!
Come to think of it...
He must be the evil one who's after the Spiritual
Stones—the same man the Great Deku Tree told
us about!
Thank you, Link!
To avoid that outcome...
we have to get the Triforce before he does!
I will continue to safeguard the Ocarina of Time.
My request for you, Link, is to obtain the other
two Spiritual Stones.
Oh, yes! Apologies—just a moment.
Let me prepare a letter for you...
The Triforce is the golden sacred triangle created
by the three goddesses—the creators of Hyrule.
It is said that anyone who touches it can have
their wish granted.
Even if the wish comes from one with a
wicked heart...
Here you are. This should aid you.
What's the matter? Did he notice you?
Don't worry.
He doesn't know what we're talking about.
Certainly. What would you like to know about?
About the legend...
Opening the door...
I'm all set.
Here. Take a look through this window, Link.
If there is anything more you would like to know
about, please don't hesitate to ask me.
The Triforce.
The Temple of Time.
The Door of Time.
I'm curious...
Is there anything else you'd like to know about?
The Triforce.
The Temple of Time.
The Door of Time.
I'm curious...
Certainly. What would you like to know about?
About the legend...
Opening the door...
I'm all set.
Of course. No need to hold back. Ask me
anything.
About the legend...
Opening the door...
I'm all set.
Ah, yes.
You're curious about the Triforce?
Of course. You'd like to hear about the
Triforce, yes?
Curious about the Triforce?
You're curious about the Temple of Time?
Of course. You'd like to hear about the Temple
of Time, yes?
Curious about the Temple of Time?
You're curious about the Door of Time?
Of course. You'd like to hear about the Door of
Time, yes?
Curious about the Door of Time?
You're curious about the three Spiritual Stones?
Of course. You'd like to hear about the three
Spiritual Stones, yes?
Curious about the three Spiritual Stones?
You're curious about the Ocarina of Time?
Of course. You'd like to hear about the Ocarina
of Time, yes?
Curious about the Ocarina of Time?
That is what I know of it.
That is about what I know of it.
Hopefully that answers your question.
Scene 28 · Hyrule Castle
Well then. My attendant will
see you back out of the castle.
Yes, Your Highness.
You, boy. Come here!
I must speak with you.
There she is. She watches over me.
She may come across as a little intimidating,
but please, don't be scared. You should talk to her.
Scene 29 · Hyrule Castle
Brave one...
Everything is as Her Highness has said.
Ideally, I'd be the one setting off to collect the
Spiritual Stones.
But with Ganondorf here in the castle, it would be
unwise of me to leave Her Highness's side now.
So I apologize, but you have to gather the stones
in my stead.
And as you've been entrusted with a mission by
Princess Zelda herself, I will teach you a special
song that is sure to aid you.
This particular song is one I used to play for her as
a lullaby when she was younger.
Hm?
I see you have an ocarina. That's convenient.
Now then. This song has been passed down
in the royal family since ancient times. Those
connected to the family will recognize it.
Know this: When you play this song, it serves as
proof that you are a messenger of the royal house.
According to legend, this melody is imbued with
mysterious power.
No doubt its power will prove useful to you as
you venture forth on your quest for Her Highness.
Listen carefully.
Listen closely and memorize this song.
Very good. You would do well to remember
this melody.
Come. I'll escort you outside. Ganondorf may
have eyes and ears in every corner.
Finish your business here, then let me know when
you're ready to leave.
Scene 30 · Lon Lon Ranch
Ready? Listen closely now...
Well, look at that!
I think Epona likes you, fairy child! Hee hee! Isn't
she sweet?
When she gets a bit bigger, I'll let you ride
her sometime!
Scene 31
Mmmm... Is someone there?
That sound... The song passed down among
Hyrule's royal family calls me to awaken.
If you're here, it must mean you want a new
power for yourself.
And if that's the case, might I request an offering
in exchange?
Well? Was I not clear?
Put rupees in the fountain.
If you do, I'll grant you a new power... Doesn't that
sound nice?
Well? As an offering, why don't you toss...
price rupees into the fountain?
Make an offering.
Don't offer anything.
Well? As an offering, why don't you toss...
price rupees into the fountain?
Make an offering.
Don't offer anything.
Well? As an offering, why don't you toss...
price rupees into the fountain?
Make an offering.
Don't offer anything.
Well? As an offering, why don't you toss...
price rupees into the fountain?
Make an offering.
Don't offer anything.
Well? As an offering, why don't you toss...
price rupees into the fountain?
Make an offering.
Don't offer anything.
Mmm... And who could this be, I wonder...
Mmm... Who disturbs my slumber?
Mmm... Who goes there?
Hmm... It seems I'm not the first Great Fairy
you've met. You've already been granted some
power. And now...you want more?
I see. You've had a little taste of the power
we Great Fairies have to offer, and now you
want more.
It looks like you've already been given some Great
Fairy power... Now you want more, do you?
Would you be willing to make me a small offering
in exchange, then?
In that case, I ask for only a small offering.
Nothing extravagant, of course.
In that case, will you be making an offering to me,
as well?
Mmm... That's the song passed down among
Hyrule's royal family. So very soothing.
Mm... That melody sounds all the sweeter each
time I hear it.
Mmm... The song passed down among Hyrule's
royal family... Lovely as always.
So, back again? I've been waiting for you. Ohoho...
I knew you'd be back. Ohoho...
Ohoho... Back again, hm?
You want a new power, don't you? If so, you'll
surely make me an offering...
You need a new power, don't you? Then I need
an offering.
You want that new power, don't you? I ask only
for an offering.
An offering of price rupees will suffice. Toss it in
the fountain.
Make an offering.
Don't offer anything.
Offer me price rupees, and I shall grant you a
new power.
Make an offering.
Don't offer anything.
An offering of price rupees will suffice. Toss it in
the fountain.
Make an offering.
Don't offer anything.
Offer me price rupees, and I shall grant you a
new power.
Make an offering.

the fountain.

new power.

new power.

the fountain.
Make an offering.
Don't offer anything.
Offer me price rupees, and I shall grant you a
new power.
Make an offering.
Don't offer anything.
Hee hee... Back again, hm?
So, we meet again.
Welcome to my fountain.
If ever you feel weary, come back to see me. I'll be
here to heal you.
If ever you feel weary, come back to me. I'll be
here whenever you need me.
If ever you feel weary, return here. I will always
heal you.
You need some soothing, do you? Alright then,
hold still...
You want some soothing, do you? Alright then,
close your eyes...
I know. You need some soothing, don't you?
Alright, just relax...
How unfortunate... Then you don't want a
new power?
Oh... Do you not have enough rupees?
Oh... That's how it is, is it?
Well, come back anytime.
Come back when you're ready.
Come back when you feel it's time.
Ahem. Seems you don't have enough rupees...
Hm? Oh, that's too bad. It appears that you don't
have enough rupees...
Hm... Sorry, but you don't have enough rupees for
me to grant you a new power.
Come back once you've saved up price rupees,
and make your offering then, yes?
Come back once you've saved up price rupees
and make your offering then, yes?
Come back once you've saved up price rupees
and make your offering then, yes?
Come back once you've saved up price rupees
and make your offering then, yes?
Come back once you've saved up price rupees
and make your offering then, yes?
Come back once you've saved up price rupees
and make your offering then, yes?
Alright now, goodbye...
Alright now, back to sleep...
Alright now, good night...
Welcome to my fountain.
Hee hee... Speechless, are you?
I, a Great Fairy of Magic, thank you for
your offering.
As promised, I will now grant you a new power.
Hee hee... You can feel the power coursing
through you, can you not?
Din's Fire is a mighty spell, but it can easily drain
your magic power if overused.
If you do use too much magic, however, you can
restore some with a magic jar or a green potion.
Now, go seek out my number remaining sisters.
They will gladly lend you their aid.
Find my sister near Hyrule Castle, and she will
grant you a powerful sword technique.
Find my sister at Zora Fountain, and she will grant
you teleportation magic.
Find my sister within the Death Mountain Crater,
and she will grant you more magical power.
Find my sister near the Evil Desert Colossus, and
she will grant you protection magic.
Find my sister near Ganondorf's Castle, and she
will grant you the ultimate defense.
Now, go seek out my— Hm?
It seems you've already met all of my sisters.
And thanks to you, we've all been awakened.
Well, thank you again for your offerings.
Find my sister, and she will grant you doubled
defensive power...
You will find her near Ganondorf's Castle.
But, well...it seems no such place exists at this
point in time.
But, well...the Hyrule Castle of old is gone, so I'm
not sure how you'll find her now.
Now, go seek out my remaining sister. She will
gladly lend you her aid.
Now, go seek out my two remaining sisters. They
will gladly lend you their aid.
Scene 32
Thank you for your offering.
I can tell you're eager. Ohoho... No need to get
yourself all worked up.
Here, this is for you.
I've made your spin attack stronger.
The spin attack allows you to strike nearby foes,
but you will be vulnerable while charging it up.
Bear that in mind.
It doesn't seem like anything happened, but...I do
sense some kind of mysterious power here.
It doesn't seem like anything happened, but...I do
sense some kind of mysterious power here.
Let's come back later.
Scene 33 · Lost Woods
Hoo-hooo! Welcome to the Lost Woods, Link.
This forest connects many different areas all
across Hyrule... It is a curious place indeed.
Should you make it through the Lost Woods, you
will find the Sacred Grove.
It is a hallowed place where very few visit.
Listen closely as you venture deeper...
You can hear a song in the air. I do believe it's
the song of a girl you know rather well.
Follow that melody, and you will find your way
through these woods.
Now then, be careful, Link... Hoo-hooo!
Scene 34 · Lost Woods
Hoo-hooo!
So, you've learned Saria's Song, have you?
If you play that song, you will find its notes
command unusual power...
You may discover other songs in this land hold
mysterious powers of their own as well. Hoho!
And what's more, there are locations the world
over that await the power of those songs.
Should you find anything that seems suspicious in
your travels, try playing a song you've learned.
Of course, you can also always play whenever you
please... That's part of the fun. Hoho!
Well then, farewell. Until next time, Link.
So...where are you headed now?
The Lost Woods connects locations all across the
land of Hyrule. If you learn to walk its paths, you
may find useful shortcuts among them.
For now...I'll wish you luck on your adventures.
Until we meet again, Link.
Scene 35 · Sacred Grove
Huh? ...Link? Link!
Oh...
So that's what happened at Hyrule Castle... Which
means you can't return home to us yet...
This is the Sacred Grove. It's my very
favorite place.
Hehehe, it's always so fun talking to you, Link.
Oh, hang on! Let me show you something.
I want to share a special song with you. It'll allow
us to talk to each other, no matter how far away
you are.
Follow along after me, alright?
Aw, come on. Let's try it!
Try playing Saria's Song.
It sounds so lovely! You're a natural.
Link, never forget my song. Please, I need you
to promise.
Whenever you want to talk to me, just play my
song. You can call it Saria's Song. And this way...
We'll always be connected.
You came back!
What about the Great Deku Tree's request
of you? Can you come back to the forest now?
It seems like you've got a lot to do... Well, just
know that all of us in Kokiri Forest are patiently
waiting for you to come home.
This place... It's going to be really important to
both of us someday. I get that feeling.
Scene 36 · Death Mountain Trail
Whoa there! Did I get ya?
It's just me! Darunia the Goron!
Heard a buncha racket coming
from the cave a bit ago.
I knew what had happened right then and there.
You took that thing down
all by your lonesome, huh!
That's great stuff, kid! Good on ya.
I'm real impressed.
Link!
Now we can eat as much good ol'
rock roast as our hearts desire!
And it's all thanks to you!
Oops... I'm sorry about that.
And...there's something else I'm sorry about.
I was angry, and I took it out on ya. I wanted
to be able to help out my brothers, but I
didn't really do anything to pitch in.
So I apologize. I'm sorry. Real sorry, goro.
That said...
I never thought the Dodongos would go
berserk like that... And then there was that
big rock blocking up the entrance to the cave.
All of it was that guy's fault...
That's right.
Just before you showed up in Goron City, some
of Ganondorf's lackeys came through here.
Claimed they'd take down the
rampaging Dodongos if we gave 'em
the Spiritual Stone we watch over.
I knew I couldn't trust 'em. The whole time they
were talkin', they had this real sneaky look.
But then you came traipsin' in—
a little guy, ready to help out.
And one after another, you defeated
those beasts without hesitating.
I really like you, kiddo!
From this day onward, you and I...
are sworn brothers!
Please accept a token of my thanks—
a symbol of our brotherhood!
Scene 37 · Death Mountain Trail
Alright, guys!
Come see your brother off!
Thanks a bunch!
You did great, Brother!
Wait up, Link!
As strong as you are, I know you can beat him!
You've gathered two Spiritual Stones. Just one left!
You've finally gathered three Spiritual Stones!
Time to go back to Princess Zelda!
Scene 38 · Goron City
Now what have we got ourselves here?
I thought I heard the royal family's song, so I
figured they sent one of their messengers my way.
But you're just some scrawny little runt of a fella!
So, what's Hyrule's deal?
How's a pip-squeak like you
gonna help out the Gorons?
That's a mountain of disrespect they're
flingin' at the stony Darunia.
I ain't got the time to deal
with pesky little pip-squeaks.
Get outta here, goro!
Well, hold on a second. We haven't
even had a chance to speak!
Why are you in such a bad mood, huh?
You're seriously asking "why"?!
'Cause the ancient beast in Dodongo
Cavern has gone wild.
Which means it's hard to harvest
our prized bomb flowers.
To top it off, there's a rock
shortage, so we're all hungry!
You got any idea how maddening
all those things are?!
At this point, I am just about ready to blooow!
So ya see?! That's why I ain't got time
to deal with some annoying little brats!
Now, get outta here.
Scene 39 · Goron City
This is it!
Yeah! Yeah! Yeah-haaa!
Hot beat!
This song's got me all fired up!
Scene 40 · Goron City
*pant* *pant* *pant*
Hey! Um...are you OK?
Ahhh, what a song!
I feel SO much better. Thank you.
I'm willin' to hear ya out now.
Eh? The Spiritual Stone of Fire? Yer lookin' for it
too, huh?
You mighta heard, but the Spiritual Stone of Fire
is also known as the Goron Ruby. It's our most
prized possession.
I can't just hand it to ya, kid.
Hold up. You wanna help, goro?
Here's the deal: You'll need to defeat the wild
beast in Dodongo Cavern. The cavern's just off
the mountain trail. Show me what yer made of!
I'll even give you the Spiritual Stone for your
trouble. Everybody wins.
But it wouldn't feel right to send you off
empty-handed.
So! Take this.
With this, even a pip-squeak like you can pick up
bomb flowers!
'Sides, like I told ya, we're currently dealing with
a whole heap of problems.
So I'm sorry, but I ain't got time to help ya out
when I've got my own things to worry about.
I'm free of all that anger! Danced it away!
So, what'd ya need from Big Boss Darunia, huh?
If you really wanna, I won't stop ya.
Once ya do, all our problems will be solved—
and what a relief that'll be!
Scene 41 · Zora River
Hoo hoo!
Hello, Link. Did the murmuring of the water draw
you here?
Make your way upstream of this river, and you will
find Zora Domain, home of the Zora people.
The royal family of Hyrule and the Zora have
shared a deep bond since ancient times.
Hence those connected to the royal family are
always welcomed through the domain's gate.
Link, make your way to that gate and play the
melody passed down through the royal family.
Now, I must be on my way. Hoo hoo!
Scene 42 · Zora River
Hm... My, my, Link. It looks as if you've grown
a good deal stronger.
And I expect you will continue to grow during
your many adventures.
How long has it been now, since you left
Kokiri Forest?
Your dear friend Saria must be worried about
you. Perhaps you should go back and see her?
I must be off. Hoo hoo!
Scene 43 · Zora Domain
Hm? A bottle? What's that inside? A message?
Oh! Th-this message—
It's from Princess Ruto! There's no doubt about it.
It's in her handwriting, blub!
Hm? Let's see, let's see...
WHAT?!
Inside...Lord Jabu-Jabu's...BELLY?!
Fishposh!
Though...come to think of it, Lord Jabu-Jabu has
been behaving strangely in recent days, groaning
and growling and whatnot...
Blub... If I recall, his behavior seemed to change
around the time we drove off a band of Gerudo...
They were shouting something about someone
named Ganondorf as they fled...
Did you hear that, Link? He said Ganondorf!
Was he here in Zora Domain too?
Hmph! To think he could be so wicked...
These troubles with Lord Jabu-Jabu must be
his doing...
Ahh... My dearest Ruto needs rescuing... And we
haven't a moment to lose!
Yet, blub, I am bound to remain here...
I will hold on to this letter. And you may keep the
bottle it was in. Use it as you see fit.
Now, please—hurry to Zora Fountain! My dearest
Ruto's fate is in your hands!
Whew...
Hm? What are you still doing here? Please, hurry
and go find my Ruto, blub—before it's too late!
Wait!
Th-that's it! You must do me this favor!
I will open the path to Zora Fountain for you,
and you will go forth and save my Ruto.
Leave it to me!
I can't right now...
Thank you.
However, no one can learn that Lord Jabu-Jabu—
our people's guardian deity—is not acting himself.
Do you understand?! You must keep it a secret...
No one in the domain can know, blub!
W-wait...
Wait!
My daughter's life is at stake!
Scene 44 · Zora Fountain
You're going to get sucked in, Link!
Scene 45 · Lord Jabu-Jabu's Belly
A little kid accompanied by a fairy?
What are you doing here?
Hi there! We found a letter in a bottle
written by the Zora princess. Is that you?
If you must know... Then, yes, I am
indeed the Zora princess, Ruto.
And you're in here because you
found my letter, you said?
That's right!
He what?
But my father would only do that if you
showed him the letter! What part of keeping
it a secret didn't you understand?!
Um, well, we...
My father worries too much—you shouldn't
have gotten him involved in this.
On top of that, you're not even a Zora coming to
my rescue. You're nothing more than a little boy!
It matters not, for I'll soon be home. I'd request
that you don't share any of this with my father.
You are dismissed, little boy. I won't be
leaving until I find what I came for.
Just go! I don't need you getting in my way.
Wait! Please, wait!
Leave me alone! You are SO—
Ahhhhhhh!
Scene 46 · Lord Jabu-Jabu's Belly
Ah!
Th-there it is! I finally found it!
Well, what are you waiting for?! Throw me
up there!
Scene 47 · Lord Jabu-Jabu's Belly
No, wait. Ruto did?!
Phew... At long last, we're reunited! I feel like I can
finally relax.
My dearest possession...
This stone was a gift from my mother.
While I was serving a meal to Lord Jabu-Jabu,
he took a deep breath and sucked me up with
his food!
In the chaos of the moment, I dropped this. I've
been looking for it everywhere.
I wrote that letter believing that a Zora might
find me...
I hoped they would come in secret, so as not to
worry my dear father.
I never could have imagined that someone like
you would come to my rescue.
But I suppose, in the end, it all worked out. Now
that I have my stone, I must return to my father.
Well? Quit staring and take me home already!
What's happening?!
You obtained the Spiritual Stone of Water!
Scene 48 · Lord Jabu-Jabu's Belly
Took you long enough!
What were you two doing, anyway?!
Your name is Link?
Ugh... You're useless.
I-I'm sorry... I've just been so lonely down here,
all by myself...
How dare you make me—ME—wait on you! I've
never experienced such rudeness.
Link and I got here as fast as we could!
Ugh... You're useless.
Blub! What're you doing?!
Scene 49 · Lord Jabu-Jabu's Belly
Hello? I'm here! Over here!
Please help me! Hurry!
Scene 50 · Zora Fountain
You know what? You're not half bad.
I can hardly believe you slayed that monster.
At first I thought you must be out of your
depth, but clearly you can hold your own.
I mean... You did fine.
And since you saved me, I, the Zora
princess, owe you a debt of gratitude.
I shall grant you a reward. Tell me what you desire.
There's no need to be shy.
I know what prize you seek.
The reward you seek to claim is the Spiritual Stone
of Water, right? We call it the Zora Sapphire.
But...you got that from your mother...
It is special indeed...
Mother always told me it was meant
to be a gift—yes—for the man who
would be my husband one day!
So you should think of it less like a prize
and more like an engagement ring!
It's decided. I'm giving you
my dearest of possessions!
The Zora Sapphire shall be yours!
Scene 51 · Zora Fountain
My father must be very worried. I need to return
to him right away.
Link...
Don't tell Father... Blub!
You've gathered two Spiritual Stones.
That means there's only one left!
You've gathered all three Spiritual Stones at last.
Now return to Princess Zelda at the castle!
Scene 52
Thank you for your offering.
Now allow me to grant you the new power that
you seek. You just stand right there...
You can use Farore's Wind as long as you have
magic power, but there is a limit to it...
The magic will return you only to the last recall
point you made—so use it when the time is right.
Scene 53 · Hyrule Field
Hoo-hooo! It has been some time, Link.
Strong as you are, you ought to be able to find
your way into the Hall of Fallen Foes.
It is a place where the mighty are called to battle.
But that does not mean it can be easily reached...
I know you must be in a hurry, but let me take a
look at you.
Ho ho... I suppose now you're wondering how you
find it, aren't you?
First you must find a place to sleep.
Once you have, lie down, and you will find your
way to the Hall of Fallen Foes.
Now, best of luck on your adventures.
Until we meet again. Hoo-hooo!
Hmm... You've grown a warrior's courage. I can
see it in your eyes.
If you're looking for a place to sleep in Kakariko
Village, seek out the grand lodge.
Despite that guise you're wearing, I can tell you've
overcome many trials since we last met.
Scene 54 · Graveyard
Look, Link! Something's written here...
Hmm...what does this say...
A Poem Dedicated to the Royal Family...
The rising sun will someday set, and all those
born will someday fade.
From sun to moon, moon to sun.
Give peaceful rest to the living dead.
Huh... That's an interesting poem.
Hmm?
There's a music score here. Can you play it, Link?
Um...
You did it!
Keep the Sun's Song in your heart...
Scene 55 · Hyrule Field
It's raining...
Gatekeeper, throw down the bridge!
Link... Wasn't that...
Gone, are they?
So, it's the child from before.
You must have seen a white horse
carrying a woman and a little brat.
Tell me where they ran off to. Now.
Don't be a fool, child. You cannot
hope to protect them from me.
Careful!
Are you so eager to fight me?
What an amusing little boy you are.
Link!
I see your courage, and so I will overlook
your impertinence. This time.
Hear me now, child. You would
do well to remember my words.
My name is Ganondorf. I am the
man who will rule this world.
Are you OK?
Scene 56 · Hyrule Field
Link...can you hear me?
It's me...Zelda.
By the time you receive this ocarina,
I will have disappeared.
I wanted to wait for you, but...now it's too late.
But at least I can leave you with the
ocarina—and a special melody.
This melody opens the Door of Time.
The melody that opens the Door of Time.
Play this song at the altar in the Temple of Time.
Please, Link, you must protect the Triforce.
Link... Are you OK?
Well then...let's hurry to the Temple of Time!
Hmmm... But where is the Temple of Time?
Maybe it's that big building over in Castle Town...
Scene 57 · Temple of Time
That's...
I've heard about this from the Great Deku Tree.
This might really be it...
The Blade of Evil's Bane...
The Master Sword.
Scene 58 · Temple of Time
You're entertaining—I will give
you that. For a child, at least.
Did you truly expect that such
juvenile tricks would fool me?
I've known all along that you would be my
key to the Door of Time... And here we are.
The royal fools and their little hero, fighting
so hard just to hand me the Sacred Realm.
Now this world and the Triforce...belong to me!
Mourn your losses. And choke
on your bitter failures forever!
As an adult
Scene 59
Chosen one. Link. Open your eyes.
It is time to wake up.
Ah, there we are. Well done.
Listen up. You may feel disoriented at the moment,
but you must heed my words closely nonetheless.
I am known as Rauru. Long ago, I built
the Temple of Time and connected
the path to the Sacred Realm.
Now then... You would do well to steady yourself.
Take stock of your current circumstances.
Whoa... Link? You got really
big! You grew SO much!
Scene 60
You were...far too young.
Where are we?
This is the Chamber of Sages.
It is the innermost chamber within the Temple
of Light in the Sacred Realm.
Link, you hold a very special sword...
By drawing the Master Sword, you opened the
path that connects our world to the Sacred Realm.
The sword cannot be borne by those with evil in
their hearts. Only one with the heart of a hero
can draw forth the Master Sword.
However, you were still too young to fulfill the
hero's mission.
For seven years, the Master Sword kept you here in
the Sacred Realm. And now that you have reached
maturity, you have been awakened.
But what about him?!
Once you opened the path, he stole into the
Sacred Realm.
The Gerudo king of thieves, Ganondorf—a man
entirely consumed by his relentless desire
for power.
He laid claim to the Triforce and transformed
into the Demon King, an otherworldly creature...
Magical power overflowed from the temple,
washing over the Sacred Realm and spreading
throughout Hyrule...
In a mere seven years, the surface of the land
itself transformed into a place infested by all
manner of beasts.
My own power cannot reach beyond this sacred
place here in the Chamber of Sages.
Oh no...
Yet there is still hope.
The Demon King has appeared, it is true. But
now there are also those who can awaken to
their power bestowed by divinity.
Once they all awaken, their power will combine
to create the Shackles of the Sages, imprisoning
Ganondorf in a place of eternal slumber.
I, Rauru, am one such sage.
And we have yet another hope. The one who will
fight the Demon King alongside the sages.
The Hero of Time...
Now. Hero chosen by the Master Sword.
I bestow upon you my resolve as Sage of Light.
You must prepare for battle against the Demon
King, Ganondorf!
Go, Link. You must find the sages.
It is up to you to protect Hyrule.
The Hero of Time. You.
The sages.
Scene 61 · Temple of Time
Are...are we back in the Temple of Time?
Has it really been seven years already?
Well, let's have a look around.
I wonder what it's like outside now.
What's wrong?
Wh-who's that?
I have been waiting for you...
Hero of Time. Link.
I am Sheik. I am a descendant
of the dying Sheikah clan.
Scene 62 · Temple of Time
There is much to discuss, Hero of Time.
We Sheikah carry a legend. It has been passed
down from ancient times.
I know that you are on a mission to find the
sages now, and I want you to know this legend
I speak of.
"When evil gains power, the world will face a
crisis of survival. But, people, do not fear.
"Those called by the voice from the Sacred Realm
will awaken in the five temples.
"One in the deep forest.
"One on the high mountain.
"One beneath the vast lake.
"One within the dark tomb.
"One upon the harsh sands.
"Those awakened by the hero will bind evil and
restore the light of peace to the world."
The five temples and...the awakened ones.
They are known as the sages.
Link, trust in this legend.
You must find all five temples and awaken the
sages. It is imperative.
As the Hero of Time, this is your mission.
As we speak, one of the sages is waiting to
be awakened in the deep forest...within the
Forest Temple.
However...
As long as the creature remains, the voice
calling from the Sacred Realm cannot reach
the sage there...
Oh no! Link, we have to hurry to the temple!
Right now, you cannot enter the Forest Temple.
The steps leading up to it have crumbled away...
Link, you know of Kakariko Village, yes?
It is a village nestled at the foot of Death
Mountain. Once upon a time, the Sheikah
would gather there.
The tool you need to enter the Forest Temple
should be hidden there in the village...
Once you're in the village, ask around. Someone
may be able to provide you with information
about where to find this tool.
Your first order of business is to head for
Kakariko Village.
Scene 63 · Temple of Time
Up here, my lad!
Well, Link. I see you are running about
Hyrule, trying to help someone even
now. You are reliable indeed.
That being said, it is time for us to say
goodbye. Indeed, this will be the final
moment that ever you may see me.
When you first set out from Kokiri Forest, you
knew nothing of this world. You were just a boy.
You've overcome countless trials and saved
so many people on your adventure.
You are now worthy to bear the title: Hero of Time.
And you are no longer in need of this owl's counsel.
Even if I am not here to see it, I have the utmost
confidence that you will be the one to save Hyrule.
Well then. Farewell to you, Link!
Scene 64 · Temple of Time
I've been waiting for you...Hero of Time.
Link... You've overcome many trials to get here,
and now all six sages have been awakened.
For that, you have my gratitude. I thank you.
But first, there is something
you must know.
A legend... Or a hidden part of it, which
has been passed down among the
members of the Sheikah clan.
Scene 65 · Kakariko Village
This is the crest of Hyrule's royal family!
Let's see, let's see...
"In the name of Princess Zelda, of the royal family
of Hyrule, is this decree hereby penned.
"I have tasked the bearer of this letter, Link, with
the mission of saving all Hyrule."
Huh... Well, this does look like it's the
princess's signature...
So then...you're the savior of our kingdom, are
you? A true hero...
Ah ha ha ha!
Our princess came up with another one of her
unusual games, huh?
This gate's been closed due to all the recent
eruptions dropping debris on the trail, but...if
the princess wills it, I won't object!
Alright, you can head on through! Just be careful
out there, Mr. Hero!
Scene 66 · Lost Woods
Huh?
Saria...went into the Forest Temple deep in
the woods...
All by herself...
...
Scene 67 · Lost Woods
I knew it... It's calling me.
I hear a voice calling out to me from within.
Very soon now, the voice is going
to guide me...into the temple.
Thank you...for being so concerned about me.
But now, I...I have to go.
There's something at the temple...that I have
to do, and I know that it's important.
I can feel it.
It's alright.
I'll be back before you know it.
Scene 68 · Lost Woods
Saria told me something...
She told me that we don't know what will happen
to the Lost Woods now. The path to the temple
might be even more dangerous...
That's why I gave her my word!
I gave my word that I won't let anyone through
here. I've got to protect everyone until she's back.
...
You want to go deeper into the woods, don't
you? I know why.
So do I. I really want to save her.
...But I... I can't. I'm so frustrated by it all.
...
I... I still don't really believe that you're him.
But you knew Saria's Song...
So I'll let you through. But now you've gotta give
me your word.
I'm counting on you...Li—
I mean... Never mind.
Scene 69 · Sacred Grove
Hello, Link. You've made it here, which can
only mean that you reunited with your
childhood friends.
But now you're an adult... And they're still the
same as they ever were.
"The flow of time, it differs for us all. Its endless
march brings countless farewells.
"But there are some things even that relentless
flow cannot change, like memories of a childhood
together."
This melody transports us to a place of memories.
Let us play the Minuet of the Forest.
Play the Minuet of the Forest.
If you play this song, you can return here. Do not
forget this.
Once you obtain the tool in Kakariko Village, enter
the temple, and defeat the beast inside. Only then
will the girl destined to become a sage awaken.
If you play this song, you can return here. Do not
forget this.
Now, use the tool you obtained in Kakariko Village
and proceed into the temple.
Defeat the monster lurking inside and awaken the
girl destined to become a sage.
Until we meet again, Link.
I'm sorry... I can't explain it to you yet.
For now, please wait until that time...
Scene 70 · Forest Temple
It's been some time, child.
Huh?!
Worthless little puppet. What a disappointment.
I cast you into the void between worlds.
Burn away! Leave nothing behind!
You've grown stronger. Of course you have.
You are, after all, one of the chosen.
That useless creature you defeated
was nothing more than illusion.
When you truly face me, you will regret
ever drawing that sword of yours.
Link... He said you're..."one of the
chosen..." What does that mean?
Scene 71
I am Saria.
The forest sage.
I was making my way through the
Forest Temple when I was summoned
to this place by Rauru the sage.
And then...when you arrived and defeated that
creature, I awoke here. And now I'm a sage as well.
I thank you, Hero of Time.
Link...you've grown so much.
I am truly grateful that you helped me out.
Thank you. Both of you.
Alright, we should head for
Kokiri Forest. Mido's waiting.
I can't go with you.
I...can never return to the world I knew.
For as a sage, that is my duty now.
It's alright! By staying here and helping
the two of you—it makes me happier
than you could ever know.
Link, I have something for you.
My resolve...as forest sage.
I have no doubt...that it will help
you on the journey ahead.
Now, you must take it.
Scene 72
Link, please never forget: You and I,
we will always be friends!
Scene 73 · Kokiri Forest
What is it, Link?
Thank you both so much!
You startled me...
I'm the little guy, the baby guy!
I'm the...Deku Tree Sprout!
You and Saria managed to free the
Forest Temple from the demon's curse...
And right in that moment...I was born!
Thank you so much! There aren't enough
thank-yous to thank you enough!
So have you gone back and said hi to the
Kokiri yet? Because I bet you they don't
even recognize you anymore, do they?
The Kokiri—they never get big or grow up. Even
after seven long years, they're all still little kids.
But not you! You've gotten big. Do you want
to know why? I'm sure you do, don't you?
OK, down to business.
Allow me to share a story I
inherited from the Deku Tree.
You may have already realized it,
but you're not a Kokiri at all, Link.
No, sir! Just like the people living
in the villages...you're a Hylian.
Scene 74 · Kokiri Forest
Long ago, a fierce war raged through Hyrule.
One day, her son cradled in her arms,
a Hylian mother fled the war,
seeking refuge in Kokiri Forest.
The mother was mortally wounded
and entrusted her child's life to the
Deku Tree, the spirit of the forest.
The moment the Deku Tree laid eyes
on the infant, he sensed that the child had
a great destiny and resolved to care for him.
Following his mother's death, the child
was raised as a Kokiri under the
watchful eye of the Deku Tree.
After several years had passed,
his fated day had finally come.
Scene 75 · Kokiri Forest
The Deku Tree entrusted me with sharing all of
this with you once you were big.
You're a Hylian. It was always your fate to
leave Kokiri Forest.
Link...
The Deku Tree knew you were fated for
great things.
He knew you have the soul of a hero—that you're
the one who will restore peace to the world.
It's your destiny!
Now get out there, Link!
Break the curse on each of the temples! And
defeat Ganondorf, the Demon King!
This is all so unexpected... So...this is your
destiny, Link.
It'll be a lot of work, but I'll be right by your side
through it all.
Scene 76 · Death Mountain Crater
Link, by now you must have seen Goron City in an
eerily quiet state. I imagine you were surprised by
how different it felt.
But some things remain yet unchanged—like the
deep, abiding friendship you once forged.
"Friendship over time forges a bond of truth.
"That bond becomes a hero's strength,
illuminating the path ahead.
"Two souls, held fast by an unbreakable bond."
Let us celebrate the friendship spoken of in this
legend and play the Bolero of Fire.
Play the Bolero of Fire.
If you play this song, you can return here to the
crater on Death Mountain.
Remember this, Link.
Until we meet again.
Remember this.
I understand that you want to speak, but now is
not the time.
That time will surely come. Until then...
Scene 77 · Fire Temple
Link, look!
Hang on a sec...
Brother?
Yeah, it IS you over there, huh!
How long has it been? Seven years, give
or take? You're almost as big as me now!
Brother, I'd love to catch up with
you, but I'm running out of time!
Scene 78 · Fire Temple
Link!
I have a favor to ask you, brother to brother!
I need you to rescue the other nine Gorons held
captive here.
And while you handle that...
I'll take down Volvagia!
Now, now, don't worry about me!
I will win!
Alrighty then! The great Darunia's off to smash an
evil dragon to bits!
Volvagia?
Yeah... It's an evil dragon that's been asleep inside
the mountain.
They say it was locked away in ancient times...
He won't be happy until the whole world's a
scorched wasteland!
And what's he using to feed that monster?
My own brothers!
I swear...
I won't let him get away with this!
And aside from Volvagia...
there's something else—something in my gut
telling me that I have to do this.
My forebrother used a legendary hammer to beat
it before... But I guess I'll just have to use my fists!
Scene 79 · Fire Temple
Thanks so much! If there are others down here,
you gotta help them!
Well, thanks a ton! I'll leave the rest to you!
I think there are others still locked away in here.
Good luck—I'm counting on you to help 'em!
I think that's everyone! Whew! I'm glad they're
all safe.
And look! I have a feeling this chest is the perfect
place to start.
Thank goodness he's safe!
But you heard him, Link. We have to find the
other Gorons too!
That only leaves three more! Come on—let's go
find them!
The last two have gotta be around here
somewhere. Let's move!
Finally, just one left! Let's go find him!
I'm heading back to Goron City! I'll wait for the
others there!
Scene 80
Thank you so much, Brother!
I say that on behalf of all Gorons.
I can't believe you defeated Volvagia...
You went from tough little pip-squeak
to tough big pip-squeak just like that!
I hate to say it, but I'd be a pile of
gravel right now if Rauru hadn't
pulled me outta the fire back there.
They're calling me the Sage of Fire.
So you know I gotta live up to that title.
It all makes me laugh! Am I right, Brother?
Yup! This is what they call fate.
But now I know why I felt the pull to
go even deeper into the temple.
Listen, Brother.
This time around, I wanna help you.
I wanna be a good fire sage.
Nothin' in the world would make me happier!
So! This is for you, Brother!
Scene 81
We're brothers, Link! Brothers forever,
and don't you forget it!
Scene 82
Ohohoho... Thank you for your offering.
BOY, you're rich!
Is it safe to assume you were just being generous,
then? You wouldn't be looking for a new power,
would you? Hm?
Oh, I'm just teasing! Now hold still.
I've made your whole body as hard as steel.
With your enhanced defenses, any damage you're
dealt will now be halved.
Scene 83 · Lon Lon Ranch
I hope you're ready. Remember, don't feel bad
when you're choking on my dust!
OK! It's time...
Let's race!
Scene 84 · Lon Lon Ranch
AGGGHHH!
That's not how it's supposed to go!
Ow ow ow ow ow...
THAT HURT!
You brat! Race me again!
If you lose this time, you'll still pay up in rupees,
but if you win...
That horse is yours!
Why isn't this guy getting thrown?! He must have some kind of
supernatural luck...
Scene 85 · Lon Lon Ranch
How?! How could this happen?!
How did you tame that horse?!
Oh... Oh no, this is really bad...
I needed the profits from selling that horse to pay
off my debts.
Argh!
OWIE!
Hee hee! OK, let's take Epona and get outta here!
Hehehehe...
Aaah ha ha ha ha!
Ehem. OK. A promise is a promise. The horse
is yours.
HOWEVER!
You can never leave this ranch!
Scene 86 · Ice Cavern
But...we are too late. The Zora are frozen beneath
a thick layer of ice.
I was able to free but one: the Zora princess. But
she didn't stay long.
She said she was going to the Water Temple.
The freezing of Zora Domain has been caused by
the monster lurking within the Water Temple.
Until it's addressed at its source, the ice will never
thaw... And now Princess Ruto is in danger.
She needs your help, Link.
I, too, need your help. Go to the Water Temple,
find Princess Ruto, and aid her.
"Time passes, and people change.
"Like a river's flow, it never ceases.
"A young heart turns to noble ambition. A young
love, to deep affection.
"The clear surface of the water reflects growth.
Those who have grown will reunite."
Etch the meaning of those words onto your heart,
and join me in the Serenade of Water.
Play the Serenade of Water.
Play this melody, and you will be taken to the
Water Temple's grounds. Remember it well.
Until we meet again, Link.
So, you've made it, Link...
Although...
You won't be able to freely explore the Water
Temple in your current state.
Scene 87 · Water Temple
Could it really be?!
Link! Link, it's you!
Remember me?
I am your fiancée—princess of the Zora, Ruto.
Scene 88 · Water Temple
Link...
That promise we made all those years ago.
I remember it like it was yesterday.
The two of us exchanged a vow of love...
Only for you to abandon me for seven years. You
must be truly heartless.
Hm? Is this true?
So then you've seen it. Our frozen domain...and
the Zora...
But my people, they...
Link. I need to save the Zora and restore my
domain to its original splendor.
I ask you, as your betrothed—please help me
once again.
Defeat the monster that infests this temple!
I tried to find the creature myself but haven't been
able to reach it.
I've seen the crest related to the royal family of
Hyrule here in the temple. It must be the key.
You have ties to the royal family. Perhaps you'll
know what to do...
While you do that, there's another place I need
to search.
For now, let's split up and see what we uncover.
We'll meet up again later.
...
Also, I can't explain it, but...
I must go to the depths of this temple,
and quickly.
I just have this feeling...
We need to save Zora Domain—together! Link, it's
up to us!
I'm counting on you!
One of the crests is up here, above the surface.
Come have a look.
Scene 89 · Lake Hylia
Hoho, what's this? It seems your adventures have
led you quite far afield, haven't they, lad?
This is Lake Hylia, which the Zora watch over and
protect. The Water Temple, at the bottom of the
lake, is dedicated to the spirit of the waters.
The Zora are a water-dwelling people who hail
from their home, Zora Domain, found near the
headwaters of the Zora River.
They say messengers from Hyrule's royal family
are the only non-Zora allowed in. Hoo-hooo!
As it happens, Link, I was just on my way to
Hyrule Castle. Care to join me?
If you'd like, just grab hold of my talons, and I'll
take you on a little trip through the skies.
Yes, please!
No, thanks!
Hoo-hooo! Off we go!
I see. Well, if you change your mind, you need
only ask.
Care for a lift to Hyrule Castle? I imagine flying
might be a nice treat for you.
Yes, please!
No, thanks!
Hohoho... Have you been making good use of
your Threads of Time?
When you are unsure which way to go next, look
there, and it will provide you guidance.
Hoo-hooo...
Scene 90 · Lake Hylia
The water flows, and with it, evil is
washed away... You've done well, Link.
I see...
And now she is a sage. For her sake, we must
bring peace to Hyrule as soon as possible.
Look, Link.
With your combined powers, you've rid
the Water Temple of that evil creature.
Once again, the lake has filled with the
purest of water. Its former beauty has
been restored, thanks to you.
He disappeared again!
Scene 91
You are amazing, Link.
Of course, I'd expect no less from my
fiancé. You fought magnificently.
Everything will be as once it was in Zora
Domain from now on, thanks to you.
Ah, yes, and lest you've forgotten...
You have my eternal love! I am yours now!
Heh. If only it could be so.
Sadly, my wish may never come to pass.
Fate has decreed that as Sage of Water, I must
stay here and help ensnare the Demon King.
Surely that's why I was drawn into the temple.
It's clear. This has always been my destiny.
Please do not misunderstand me. I have found
my purpose, and that brings me great joy.
My people...they're safe, all thanks to you two.
So now, it is my honor to serve you, in turn.
Link...
You'd be surprised by the things that I know.
Have faith. You will meet again...
as long as...you don't give up.
I wish you luck in the battles to come,
and I have something for you.
Please take it...and use it wisely!
Scene 92
Scene 93 · Kakariko Village
Oh no!
Stay back, Link!
Look out!
Over here!
What...
Link, look!
Be...careful...
Link? Link!
Hey, are you alright?
Can you move?
Good, you seem OK.
What a relief...
A creature of darkness, locked
away here for some time.
Scene 94 · Kakariko Village
A while ago...
Impa and I received word that a monster had
appeared in Kakariko Village, so we came
to investigate the area immediately.
As I suspected, the barrier has been broken.
Yes, there can be no doubt.
With the Demon King's rise to power, the creature
that I had trapped here grew in strength.
It broke through the barrier,
and then it surfaced here.
I'd wager it's heading back to where it was before.
To the Shadow Temple.
So be it. Let us head to the temple, then.
No. One of us needs to stay and protect the village.
It's possible the beast still haunts this place.
We should split up for now. I'll go to the
Shadow Temple and see if it's there.
You stay here and protect the village.
Understood.
Scene 95 · Kakariko Village
I'm certain that creature is making its way to the
Shadow Temple now.
I am sure of this because it rushed off without
bothering to finish the two of us off.
Impa... She's one of the sages. She is indispensable
in our endeavor to imprison the Demon King.
She is...very important to me. I cannot live
without her.
And now she's in danger.
However, in my current state, I'd only be a burden
to her if I tried to help...
So...Link, I must ask for your assistance. Please, go
to the temple and defeat the demonic beast!
The entrance to the Shadow Temple is at the far
end of this village, deep in the graveyard.
At this point, there is only one thing I can do to
aid you.
I will share with you the legend that reveals how
to enter the Shadow Temple.
"The melody that calls you to the infinite, into the
void that swallows even time."
Let us play the melody spoken of in this legend—
the Nocturne of Shadow.
Play the Nocturne of Shadow.
If you play this song, it will take you to the far
end of the village, near the Shadow Temple's
entrance in the depths of the graveyard.
The only way to get there is with the
Nocturne of Shadow. Remember this.
Be warned... The Shadow Temple has traps laid to
repel intruders.
The only way you can visibly make out the traps is
with the eyes of truth.
And I don't yet know where to find them.
However, I do know that there's a clue as to
their whereabouts somewhere in this village.
It would seem you already have the tool to see
those traps. You have the eyes of truth.
Impressive.
The Shadow Temple has traps set to repel
intruders.
Scene 96
It's been a while. Greetings, brave one.
Though...as of late, you're
known as the Hero of Time.
You have done well, truly. Slaying that demonic
beast from the Shadow Temple? I thank you.
You need not worry. She is safe.
Her Highness will soon make herself
known to you, and all will be revealed...
Only then can the sages stop the Demon
King and restore peace to Hyrule.
I will remain here, preparing for that moment.
So, then...you're the Sage of Shadow?
Yes. It would seem so.
As Sage of Shadow, I must atone for my failure.
Seven years ago, when Ganondorf
dared to invade Hyrule Castle...
It was my fault. I should've kept an eye on him.
I should have stopped him...somehow...
And now...I will never be free of that guilt.
And so, a favor...
Regretfully, I can no longer perform the Sheikah's
duty: protecting Hyrule and its royal family.
Please...do what I cannot. Defend the
princess. Keep her from harm.
I can see it in your eyes...
You've overcome many challenges to have
made it this far. You have grown strong.
Take this, now!
Accept this symbol of my support. May it
serve you in battle against the Demon King!
Scene 97
I'm counting on you to tend to Her Highness.
Scene 98 · Gerudo Fortress
Stay there and be quiet until you're
told otherwise!
You can come out once you've reflected on your
actions. Not a moment sooner!
And count yourself lucky. I can't believe we're
showing any mercy to a criminal...
Scene 99 · Gerudo Fortress
WOW! You are SO strong! Nice to officially meet
you! I'm no criminal, you know. Just a simple
carpenter named Ichiro!
One of the newer guys on my crew, Shiro, was
going on about the Gerudo and how cool they
were, and I got swept up in the thrill of it all.
But as soon as we got here, the Gerudo acted
like jerks, treating us like scum just 'cause
we're outsiders.
It was so...RUDE! Boy, am I done with this place.
I never expected someone this handsome would
show up to save me... Thank you! Name's Jiro.
Ichiro, the most senior guy on our crew,
convinced the four of us carpenters to come
here and become Gerudo thieves...
But they are WAY scarier than I thought they'd be!
I think we should stick to construction.
I can't wait to get outta this place!
Thanks, pal! That was real nice of you! I'm Saburo.
I'm only here 'cause Jiro, this other carpenter I
work with, said it was this big dream to join the
Gerudo. Next thing you know, I'm locked up.
Oh well. I've been rescued, so...it all worked out in
the end, I guess.
Hee hee! I better get back to the boss. I bet he's
worried sick about us...
I can't believe you fought for me! ME! I owe you
my name, at the very least. I'm Shiro!
I'm the youngest, newest guy on the crew. It's not
like I could disagree. I had no choice...
I bet by now the other guys wish they never came
to this place... Next time I see 'em, I won't hold
back what I really think!
What about a temple...and a sage? I dunno what
any of that means.
One of the other guys might know something.
Maybe you can rescue 'em too, if you've got time.
I'm guessing you can manage it! See ya!
You can ask me anything you want about temples
or sages. It won't change the fact that I have no
clue about any of that.
Maybe one of the other carpenters knows
something. You can rescue 'em too, right?
Please and thank you! Buh-bye, now!
Do I know anything about temples or sages?
Uh... I hate to disappoint you, but...no.
Course I can't speak for every guy on my crew.
Try to find 'em! And rescue 'em!
Promise you'll try? Great—thanks, bye!
You're looking for some kinda temple and a sage?
Sorry, I don't know a thing about that.
I'm, uh, gonna head back to Gerudo Valley. Stop
by for a visit sometime, 'K?
See you then! For now, freedom! Hee hee!
Scene 100 · Gerudo Fortress
So... You're searching for the temple, are you?
Don't worry... You can keep that blade in its
sheath, Hylian. Consider yourself safe...for now.
I am the captain of this fortress.
In all my days, I never thought I'd see someone like
you defeat a Gerudo. Impressive work, indeed.
What you asked that carpenter... You seek passage
to the temple, yes?
Agree to help me, and I'll open the gate to the
desert, offering you a path to the temple.
I must warn you though... Our desert is a horrific
thing. Between its dust storms and the quicksand,
your life will be in constant danger.
But if your talent for battle is anything to go by,
I believe you can make it if you try.
At least... I hope you can.
Some time ago, our exalted leader, Nabooru,
departed on a journey to the Spirit Temple and
has been missing ever since.
I can't lead our people the way she can... And her
absence has more than taken its toll on us.
What I want is simple. You will reach the temple,
and you will uncover what happened to Nabooru.
Please... Say you'll do it.
What's in it for me?
You're actually interested? That's good to hear...
We Gerudo know the place you seek well. We call
it the Spirit Temple.
Really? But without us, you'll never make it to the
desert, let alone the temple.
Let's take her up on it, Link! We have to get to
that temple.
So you'll help?
Just outside is a gate that leads to the
Spirit Temple.
With that pass, the gatekeeper will let you
through. I'm counting on you, Hylian...
Then...perhaps you and I can strike a deal.
It's simple, really. You grant my request—I give you
something in return... What do you say?
What do you want?
What's in it for me?
Great! Then we are agreed! I'll make sure the
fortress is aware of your presence.
And here. Without this, you're as good as
captured the moment you step out of this room.
Scene 101 · Evil Desert Colossus
Hmm... Just look at that opening.
There's no way I'll fit through there.
But without those things, I'm basically
beaten before I've even gotten started.
Alright, let's think this through...
Ooh, what do we have here?
You're a long way from home for a Hylian.
Hello to you and your little fairy friend, kid.
Don't just stand there. Tell me who you are already!
But...who are you? And what did you
mean? Earlier, when you were saying
something about "those things"...
Ah! Heard me talking to myself?
Not my stealthiest moment, was it?
Well, whatever. No harm in introducing myself first.
I am Nabooru of the Gerudo. My occupation?
I guess you'd call me a thief.
Scene 102 · Evil Desert Colossus
So you're Nabooru? You're in charge of
Gerudo Fortress?
In charge of the fortress? What are you...
You mean that place fully under Ganondorf's
control? That fortress? You wouldn't catch me
anywhere near that place.
I work on my own, and I'm going to show them
all up.
Let me explain. We Gerudo are almost entirely
all women, except for a man who is born every
hundred years.
That one man is destined to become the king of
the Gerudo...
But I refuse to accept any of that. A king should
be a leader with more than just birthright. They
need to have character.
Ganondorf... He kills without a second thought if
it advances his goals. I won't stand for it.
Anyway, that's my story. Your turn.
Judging by your disposition, I'm guessing you're
not the biggest fans of Ganondorf either.
In which case...we'd be fools not to team up.
Unlucky for me, the only way to reach that
treasure is through this tiny, child-sized hole.
See, Ganondorf is definitely up to something in
this temple.
The monsters here are proof enough of that.
But for me to get any deeper in, I need to move
that stone block out of the way. That heavy block.
Ohh, you're pretty sharp.
I don't know what you're after here, but you've got
to get past that stone block too, right?
Get me the treasure I'm talking about, and we
both win.
OK, we'll help.
Not right now.
You know... If I'm being honest, that treasure isn't
why I'm interested in this place.
Something is calling to me... Pushing me to go
deeper into the temple.
I can't explain it...
...Ah, sorry. There I go again!
Here I was just saying how bad a habit it is to talk
to yourself too!
Anyway, what's important is that until you get
those gauntlets, neither of us is making headway.
Keep up your end, and I'll owe you a serious
debt, kid.
And I always make good on my debts! Just bring
me those Silver Gauntlets!
Lucky for me, I know of a treasure here that can
move heavy things.
So you want us to go through there for you, huh?
Sounds like a pretty fair deal, right?
Oh, and don't start thinking of some way to make
off with the treasure...
The Silver Gauntlets are made for an adult. They
wouldn't fit you.
But don't worry! I'll clear that pesky block outta
the way for both of us.
Scene 103 · Evil Desert Colossus
Heeeey! Link!
You found it, didn't ya?
You are really something, kid!
H-hey! What are you doing?!
What's happening? Who are they?!
It is very foolish of you to try opposing the mighty
Ganondorf. Being Gerudo won't protect you...
We'll make you regret each and every moment of
your treachery against your master, sneaky girl.
We have to help her!
Link!
Run away! Get outta here! Go!
Scene 104 · Spirit Temple
I never thought anyone would make it this
far. What an outrageously bold intruder...
We can't let someone so outrageous
go unpunished, of course.
I command you now, loyal servant. Take heed!
Rise up and exterminate him! This foolish
boy who has dared to intrude here!
Scene 105 · Evil Desert Colossus
Well done crossing the desert, Link. I'm impressed.
The trials ahead will ask much of you, but I have
faith you can overcome them.
"Those who follow the flow of time will be
rejected. Those who transcend it will be
accepted."
Remember these words, should you face
challenges ahead...
And one more thing, Link.
The Requiem of Spirit is connected to this place.
Play it, and you will be transported here.
Play the Requiem of Spirit.
Remember: To go to the Evil Desert Colossus, you
need only play the Requiem of Spirit.
No matter what form you take...
The Spirit Temple...
I come with words of guidance—a legend that
speaks of the Spirit Temple.
I caught wind of details pertaining to the eyes of
truth that led me here. I didn't expect I'd find you
here as well.
The Spirit Temple lies just ahead. The Sage of
Spirit is surely in danger.
You must deliver this sage—and Impa—from the
dangers they face.
Link, I...I must express my gratitude.
Because of you, Impa was able to awaken as
a sage.
Thank you...
With what you've accomplished so far, I know you
will rise to meet whatever awaits.
So now allow me to share with you the legend
that speaks of the Spirit Temple.
Allow me to share with you words of guidance—
a legend that speaks of the Spirit Temple.
Scene 106
Thank you for your offering.
Now allow me to grant you your new power.
You may feel a little pinch, but just be a good boy
and hold still for me.
There. That wasn't so bad, was it?
Nayru's Love will shield you from all damage.
But be careful. The magic doesn't last forever.
Scene 107 · Spirit Temple
What happened to me?
Well, well.
My, my.
A distinct possibility. I suppose we'll just try again.
There are Gerudo who look up to this child...
We can still put her to good use.
Yes, you are right... But we need to
make sure that she has no chance
at all of breaking free this time!
Stay out of this, little boy!
You're not getting away!
Now then... How badly do you
want to save her, young man?
Well then... All you have to
do is go through this door.
Oh no...
Scene 108 · Spirit Temple
Right you are, right you are! Let's get serious.
Kotake and...
Koume's...
Dazzling! Dynamite! Attack!
Dazzling! Dynamite! Attack!
Come now, boy. Don't be scared.
I just want to play with you.
Scene 109 · Spirit Temple
What a very clever little boy you must be.
Now it's time. I will burn you to cinders with my
roaring flames!
And I will chill you to the depths of your soul
with my frigid ice...
Scene 110 · Spirit Temple
What a little brat he is...
Uh, no clue, but you've got one as well, sister.
I'm only 400 years old! I'm too young to die!
I'm MUCH too young—I'm only 380!
Hey! Are you lying about your age to your TWIN?!
No! You just forget because you're decrepit!
"Decrepit"?! Is that any way
to talk to your older sister?
Maybe I'M older. You don't know!
Grrr! Why don't you show some respect?!
Grrr! Why don't you make me?!
Respect me!
Make me!
RESPECT ME!
MAKE ME!
We'll come back to haunt you!
We'll come back to haunt you!
Scene 111
Hey, kid. Or rather, hello, Link.
I owe you an eternal debt. Thank you.
Ah ha ha ha ha! I can't believe what I'm looking
at. The little kid from seven years ago is all
grown up—you're a real swordsman now.
Seven whole years, huh?
I can't believe I was so careless.
I fell right into their trap.
Those old crones used me like a puppet.
They forced me to help Ganondorf
get what he was after.
The indignity of it all! And if it wasn't for Rauru's
help, who knows where I would be right now.
But hey, how's this for a twist?
When the dust cleared from all that,
I end up the Sage of Spirit!
That man...
So, kid...
No... You're the Hero of Time now.
I made you a promise seven long years ago,
but it looks like things have gotta change...
So, I'll give you this instead!
Go on! Take it!
Scene 112
You know, you've become a fine young man, Link.
Sorry, kid. Even after seven years,
I couldn't square my debt with you.
Scene 113 · Temple of Time
Indeed. You are making steady progress toward
awakening the sages and eliminating the beasts
in the temples.
Even so, there are still sages who have not yet
reached their time of awakening. They need
your help.
"Summiting the mountain, overcoming the
lake's depths.
"Transcending time..."
Time?
Listen closely, Link. Should you ever need to
return to the past, place the Master Sword back
into the Pedestal of Time.
If you do, you will be able to travel back in time
to seven years ago.
Whoa... That's possible?
Link... You must return here someday.
"The Sage of Light, watching over Hyrule since
ancient times. The temple, built of his hands,
governing time itself."
To return to the Temple of Time—spoken of in
legend—we must play the Prelude of Light.
Play the Prelude of Light.
Link, you are the one chosen by the
Master Sword.
The hero's fate is tied inextricably to that sword.
Remember this.
We will meet again soon.
Link... The song I taught you—did it help?
Sheik! We awakened the sage!
We tried to tell you the other day, but you always
disappear so quickly...
"Summiting the mountain...
"Overcoming the lake's depths...
Now you can return here with ease.
You can also freely return to seven years ago from
this temple.
That said, the past needs you far less than
the present...
Go to the temples and awaken each of the
sages. Only then will you be able to save those
endangered by the Demon King.
I appreciate your concern, but...don't worry about
me. Find the eyes of truth, and quickly.
And please take care of Impa.
For that to happen, you must become even
stronger...
Now there's only one sage left...
To save the last sage, you must become even
stronger...
Scene 114 · Temple of Time
The sacred symbol... The Triforce.
It is the balance that weighs three aspects
of the spirit: power, wisdom, and courage.
If one touched the sacred symbol...
Were that one found worthy, they would
obtain the Triforce in its wholeness.
However, if someone unworthy touched it,
the sacred symbol would split into three parts.
Only one part would remain—the one
in which that person most believed.
The two remaining parts of the Triforce
would be placed in the hands of the
ones chosen by divinity.
Scene 115 · Temple of Time
Seven years ago, when Ganondorf
seized the Triforce, it broke into three
parts, just as the legend foretold...
All he received was the Triforce of Power.
Hungry for more, once Ganondorf
became the Demon King, he sought
out the ones chosen by divinity.
The Triforce of Courage resides within...
the Hero of Time. Link.
And the Triforce of Wisdom...
is with a leader...
Zelda, leader of the sages and princess of Hyrule.
I lied to you about being a Sheikah.
And I hid myself from you both.
I hope you can forgive me. The Demon King
could not discover my whereabouts.
Seven years ago...
On that day when Ganondorf attacked
Hyrule Castle, I saw you.
Scene 116 · Temple of Time
I saw you as I was escaping from the
castle with my attendant, Impa. You
were standing there at the entrance.
In that moment, I knew I had to
entrust the Ocarina of Time to you.
It was the only opportunity I would have.
Scene 117 · Temple of Time
But instead, something unexpected happened...
For years, you were held within the Sacred Realm.
I never would've imagined such a thing.
He became the Demon King... And the
Sacred Realm was filled with his evil.
I knew that you would someday return,
and so I waited, hiding my true identity.
Hero of Time. Link...
We must put an end to the Demon King's reign—
to this dark era that he has ushered forth.
I must ask for your help once
more. It is the only way.
Thank you.
I have something for you, to prepare you
for the final battle. Please accept this gift.
I bestow upon you, the chosen one, blessed
artifacts to defeat the Demon King.
I offer you the sacred light arrows!
Scene 118 · Temple of Time
Come, Link. Together, we can defeat him.
What is that... Could it be?!
Rebellious little princess. I'm impressed you
managed to elude me for seven long years.
I knew that if I allowed that child to wander,
eventually you'd reveal yourself to me.
The only miscalculation I made was
to underestimate your power, child.
No... Not your power. Rather, the
power of the Triforce of Courage...
And we must not forget the Triforce of Wisdom
that Zelda possesses. Once I obtain them both...
I will become the true master of this world!
Prepare yourself, child.
I come for you next.
Scene 119
Thank you for your gracious offering.
You must want a new power, hm? Ohoho... It'd be
cruel to keep you waiting, I suppose.
Now hold still.
I've enhanced your magical ability. Now you have
twice as much magic power.
But don't get carried away...OK?
Scene 120 · Inside Ganondorf's Castle
Link. Can you hear me?
But beware... He aims to seize the
Triforce of Courage, which you possess.
You will be beset by many dangers in the castle.
Proceed with caution.
Scene 121 · Inside Ganondorf's Castle
Hear me, Link. Ganondorf is in that tower.
However, the way into the tower
is blocked by powerful barriers.
The evil power maintaining the barriers flows
from six locations. Cleanse each area of its evil,
and the barriers will come down. You must prevail.
Scene 122 · Inside Ganondorf's Castle
Scene 123 · Inside Ganondorf's Castle
The evil power here has been dispelled.
You must rescue Her Highness. Quickly!
Scene 124 · Inside Ganondorf's Castle
The evil power here is gone
now. You can do it, Link!

Scene 128 · Inside Ganondorf's Castle
The evil power in this place never stood a chance.
Now, just stay calm. There's still work to do, kid.
Scene 129 · Inside Ganondorf's Castle
All of the barriers have now vanished.
It is time. Go to the tower now, Link!
Scene 130 · Inside Ganondorf's Castle
There she is!
What a pitiful man.
Without a strong and righteous heart, he couldn't
control the power of the goddesses.
Agh!
Oh no!
Link! The tower's collapsing.
We've got to hurry! Follow me!
Scene 131 · Inside Ganondorf's Castle
Thank you, Link!
Scene 132 · Inside Ganondorf's Castle
Quickly, Link! Find us a way out—fast!
Scene 133 · Inside Ganondorf's Castle
That was close...
Scene 134 · Inside Ganondorf's Castle
They resonate...
The Triforce is attempting to
become whole once more.
Seven years ago, it was.
The other two parts of the Triforce
vanished before I could claim them.
I never would have imagined that
they resided in the two of you.
Now, at long last...
All three parts of the Triforce are in one place!
Such gifts are far beyond the likes of you.
You will return them at once!
It's no use!
The strength of his darkness is keeping
me from getting near him!
I'm sorry... I can't help...
Scene 135 · Inside Ganondorf's Castle
Impossible...
I, the mighty Ganondorf, the
Demon King! Defeated?!
Losing to some pathetic child?!
Link...
Scene 136 · Inside Ganondorf's Castle
Link?
What happened?
I can't hold this for long...
Link...
Stay on your guard...
I'll be OK.
We have to hurry!
What's this?
Come on, let's go.
I'm so glad you're OK...
Come on!
Link!
I'll hold them. The rest is up to you!
We're almost there!
Let's go.
More of them!
The path... What should we do?
I will open the way!
I'll handle this.
What is this... His power—it's running wild!
Link, be careful!
I'll help. Leave it to me!
Until then, you've got to hang on!
Link!
The rest is up to you, Link.
Is it coming from over there?
Scene 137 · Ganondorf's Castle
This time, we fight together! Because...
Because we're a team!
Scene 138 · Ganondorf's Castle
It's over...
Finally...
I couldn't fight alongside you... I'm sorry, Link...
What was that?
Scene 139 · Ganondorf's Castle
Now's our chance!
Link!
Scene 140 · Ganondorf's Castle
Sages, now!
Scene 141
You've done well, Hero of Time.
Thanks to your courageous efforts,
we six sages are at last finally awake!
The time is nearly upon you
to confront the Demon King.
But before you do, you have one
more ally that you must meet.
This ally awaits your arrival at the Temple of Time.
Scene 142
Fellow sages, I shall now open the sealed
gateway to entomb the evil one forever!
O ancient goddesses who created Hyrule!
I call upon you now to grant us your blessing!
Curse you...
And curse you, Link!
There will come a day when I break free from
these accursed shackles and make my escape.
When that day does come, I will destroy
you utterly. You and your entire bloodline!
So long as I hold the Triforce
of Power within my grasp...
Scene 143
Link.
At long last, this world will
finally see an age of peace.
All of the tragedies that led to
this moment... They're my fault.
I was immature. Reckless. Opening
up the path to the Sacred Realm...
As a result, so many suffered due to my actions...
And you...losing all of those years...
I am sorry, Link.
I must correct all my mistakes,
as much as my powers will allow.
I will set the Master Sword to slumber
and close the path to the Sacred Realm.
But first, I'll be needing the Ocarina of Time.
Now that I'm a sage, I can send you back...to the
time before you and I ever met, on that fateful day.
Peace has returned to the land of Hyrule... And
now, it is time for us to bid each other farewell.
Now, return home, Link. The time
that was taken is yours again.
Go where you belong...
as you belong.
Thank you, Link...for everything.
And goodbye...

Link? It's Saria... Can you hear me?
Hi, Link! Seems like you've got a lot going on.
I know you want to talk...but right now you
should focus on the task at hand.
Let's catch up later!
Hey, Link!
I know you want to talk, but you need to move
quickly right now!
It's pretty fun to chat with the ocarina.
But...I'm right over here. Why not come talk to
me directly?
I heard from the Great Deku Tree that the
Lost Woods connects to many different places.
If you hear my song outside the forest, it might
mean that place is connected to this forest
somewhere.
I'd really love to hear about your adventures.
So, Darunia the Goron liked my song, huh?
Hee hee...I'm happy to hear that. And I'm glad
my song has been helpful to you, Link.
I'd really love to hear about your adventures.
So, you're looking for something called a
Spiritual Stone?
I know I've heard about it before... From the
Great Deku Tree, actually.
Upstream of the Zora River live the Zora people.
They guard the Spiritual Stone there.
I hope that information helps you!
I have a strange feeling...
Something is happening at the castle... Yes, I'm
sure of it!
Hm? Your ocarina sounds different...
Have you gotten better at playing it?
Oh? You're looking for a certain temple, hm?
That rings a bell...
A little while ago, a strange bird came to me and
told me something.
"For all who seek the temple... Eyes that see
through darkness will open in a storm."
I hope that's helpful to you.
Hm? You're looking for a certain temple? That
reminds me of something I heard recently...
A little while ago, a strange bird came to me and
told me this...
"To the child who seeks the temple... Go to the
desert goddess, and bring your ocarina."
I hope that's helpful to you.
Link... You've got to find the temples and awaken
the remaining sages!
The temples are located all throughout Hyrule.
When I found out I was the Sage of the Forest,
I was worried about whether or not I could do
a good job.
But...I'm not worried anymore! Instead,
I feel happy.
And it's because...you're here with me.
I know that together we can protect Hyrule!
If all of the sages come together, we can
imprison Ganondorf, the Demon King.
But in order to do that, we'll need the leader of
the sages' power.
I think the leader is someone you know.
At this point, you have to travel through time to
awaken whoever remains...
Good luck, Link!
Each sage is offering up their power to you.
The peace of Hyrule depends on you, Link.
You played the song I taught you!
You must like it, huh?
Ohhh... Your ocarina sounds so mystical
and lovely.
Even though it's the same song you always
play for me, it sounds completely different.
How strange!
Hey, where are you right now?
Oh! You're in Kokiri Forest!
Make sure you say hi to everyone. And don't
forget Mido either, 'K? Hee hee!
Hey, where are you right now?
I see... You're in Kokiri Forest.
Do you think everyone will recognize you?
I wonder how they'll react when they find out that
I've become a sage. Hee hee.
Hey, where are you right now?
Ah! You're in the Great Deku Tree!
In that case, make sure to say hi to everyone in
the forest.
And don't forget Mido either, 'K? Hee hee!
Hey, where are you right now?
Hm? You're in the Lost Woods?
That means you're close to the Sacred Grove
where I am.
Follow the sound of my ocarina so you don't get
lost! Hee hee.
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're in the Lost Woods...
Did you already tell Mido about me?
After all this, I can't return. Link... Don't get into
any fights with Mido!
Hey, where are you right now?
Oh! You're in the Sacred Grove?
In that case, you should come meet up with me.
Hee hee... Let's talk in person, yeah?
Hey, where are you right now?
I see... You're in the Sacred Grove!
My favorite place...
Now that I'm a sage, I understand why that place
was so soothing to me.
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're in the Forest Temple...
Maybe that's why...it feels like you're close by.
Maybe there's some kind of connection between
the Chamber of Sages and the temples?
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're somewhere called...Hyrule Field?
I heard fields don't have many trees.
It sounds like it'd be really fun to run through the
field, but be careful you don't trip. Hee hee!
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. So you're in Hyrule Field?
I heard from Rauru that it's a very big field.
Maybe the view there is the same as it was seven
years ago.
You haven't forgotten what it was like back
then, right?
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're in some sort of castle town...
The houses are made of stone... And there are
lots of people? That sounds so unusual, but it
also sounds really neat!
I wish I could see!
Hey, where are you right now?
Huh? You're in a castle town that's been taken
over by monsters?
But seven years ago, it was filled with Hylians...
I see... Seeing it as it is now must be upsetting...
Try not to let it get you down, 'K? We'll capture
Ganondorf and restore the peace.
Hey, where are you right now?
I see... You're at the castle in Hyrule.
I think I heard from the Great Deku Tree that
important people live in castles.
So make sure you conduct yourself accordingly!
Hee hee!
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're near Ganondorf's Castle...
Ganondorf took the peace we once had in
Hyrule—I can never forgive that.
Link... I'll do what I can to support you as a sage.
Together, we can do this.
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. In a place called Kakariko Village, huh?
And there's a big structure called a...windmill?
Hee hee... I've never heard of anything like that...
But don't go climbing all over it, 'K? That windmill
is probably really important to the village.
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're in Kakariko Village.
Oh, I heard something from Sage Rauru! He said
the people in the castle town evacuated to the
village seven years ago.
I'm sure everyone wants to go back home... We
have to restore peace so they can do that!
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're in the graveyard in a place called
Kakariko Village...
It must be home to the graves of the villagers,
then... Make sure you're respectful there, Link!
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're in Kakariko Village's graveyard, huh?
And that's where you found the Hookshot that
you needed to enter the Forest Temple too?
I'm not sure I understand all of this... Hee hee!
Oh, did you thank Dampé though? Make sure to
say thanks when people give you things!
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're at the bottom of the well in a place
called Kakariko Village?
Hee hee... What are you doing at the bottom of
a well?
You're full of surprises, Link.
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're someplace called the
Shadow Temple?
Since it's called that, is it really dark in there?
Make sure you watch where you step, 'K?
Hee hee!
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're in the Shadow Temple...
I heard from Sage Rauru that the Shadow Temple
has traps laid all over the place...
Be careful.
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. So you're in a place called Goron City?
The Great Deku Tree once talked about
the Gorons...
He said they eat rocks! You probably shouldn't do
that yourself though. Hee hee!
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're in Goron City.
The only things I know about it are what I've
heard from the Great Deku Tree...
It feels strange, knowing you're there now.
Hey, where are you right now?
I see... Someplace called Death Mountain Trail.
The Great Deku Tree said that trails that go
through mountains are like climbing very long
hills. I don't really get it, but it sounds tiring...
Make sure to rest when you're tired.
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're on Death Mountain Trail.
I think you went on that trail before, but I wonder
if things have changed in the last seven years...
Be careful, Link.
Hey, where are you right now?
I see... Someplace called Dodongo Cavern.
I've never seen or been inside of a cavern, but just
hearing about it is so exciting!
That said, you never know what's in there, so be
careful not to get hurt, 'K?
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're in Dodongo Cavern...
Did you explore in there seven years ago? I don't
know much about it... Hee hee!
Do you have unfinished business there?
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're somewhere called Death
Mountain Crater...
Craters are really hot, right?
I'm happy to hear from you, but that sounds
dangerous! You should go somewhere cooler!
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. So you're at Death Mountain Crater.
You may be very strong now, Link...
But even you can't do anything if you fall into the
crater. Be careful!
Hey, where are you right now?
I see... You're at the Fire Temple.
So the Fire Temple is in Death Mountain Crater?
I wonder why it's there of all places...
Maybe the heat is supposed to protect it from
bad people.
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're at the Zora River...
A large river outside of the forest... Is it bigger than
the river in Kokiri Forest?
It sounds like it would be fun to swim and play
there, but be careful not to drown, Link...
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're at the Zora River.
I think you were there seven years ago, but who
knows what's changed since then...
Be careful.
Hey, where are you right now?
I see... You're someplace called Zora Domain?
The Great Deku Tree talked about the
people there...
He said that the Zora can stay underwater as long
as they want!
I'm kinda jealous... I can't even open my eyes
underwater...
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're in Zora Domain.
The only things I know about it are what I've
heard from the Great Deku Tree...
It feels strange, knowing you're there now.
Hey, where are you right now?
I see... You're in a place called Zora Fountain?
Wow... That's where the sacred guardian of the
Zora resides? I wonder...
Is that similar to our Great Deku Tree? Or is it
much different? In any case, be respectful!
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're at Zora Fountain.
I think you were there seven years ago, but who
knows what's changed since then...
Be careful.
Hey, where are you right now?
What?! You're inside the belly of the Zora people's
sacred guardian?!
At this point you've been in the Great Deku Tree's
tummy as well as the Zora lord's tummy...
You must really like cramped spaces, Link.
Hee hee!
Hey, where are you right now?
I see... You're in an ice cavern? I don't quite
understand, but sounds like it's fully made of ice!
Brrr... Just thinking about it makes me cold!
Don't get sick, 'K?
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're in the Water Temple, huh?
Hang on! It's at the bottom of Lake Hylia?!
Hmm, maybe they hid the entrance at the
bottom of a lake so bad people won't enter?
Hey, where are you right now?
I see... You're somewhere called Gerudo Valley?
Huh, there's hardly any trees...AND hardly any
grass too?
I bet it's kinda nice not needing to deal with
weeds. Hee hee!
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're in Gerudo Valley...
I never heard about it from the Great Deku Tree,
so I can't tell you about the area...
Link... Please be careful.
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. So you're in Gerudo Fortress.
I've never seen a fortress, myself... Don't go poking
at things without permission!
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're at the Gerudo Proving Grounds, huh?
Is that a place where you...practice something?
I know! You should use your time there to get
strong enough to defeat Ganondorf. Hee hee!
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're someplace called the Mirage Desert.
Whoa... So a desert... It's a wide-open space with
nothing but sand as far as the eye can see?!
Oh no! Be careful not to get sand in your eyes!
Hee hee!
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. Someplace called the Mirage Desert...
Everything is sand as far as you can see? I bet it's
hard to walk around there.
Make sure you're well prepared for travel!
Hey, where are you right now?
I see... You're in front of something known as the
Evil Desert Colossus?
Wow... A giant statue, huh? I wonder who made
it and why...
Hey, where are you right now?
I see. You're in front of the Evil Desert Colossus.
Hmmm...a statue like that... Who do you think
made it? And for what?
I wish I could see how big it is. But if it's too big,
I'd get scared that it'd try to eat me!
Hey, where are you right now?
I see... The Spirit Temple!
It's a really old building, huh? I like places like that.
If you listen closely, I wonder if you can hear the
voices of people long past... Does it feel like that's
possible there?
Hey, where are you right now?
I see... You're at the Spirit Temple.
Is the Spirit Temple beyond the Mirage Desert?
I wonder if the Spirit Temple was built in a
faraway place so bad people can't find it.
Wow! It's pretty early in the morning for a
sleepyhead, isn't it?
Maybe I'd get out of bed early too if I left the
forest...hee hee!
The Great Deku Tree was the only one who
knew about things outside of the forest...
It makes me happy to hear about your
adventures out there, Link.
Tell me all about the places you visit, 'K?
It's almost lunchtime, and I'm starting to feel a
little sleepy.
Aren't you sleepy too, Link? Make sure to take
time for rest if you're tired.
Mido seems a little down ever since you left
the forest...
So if you ever feel lonely, you should come back
to Kokiri Forest sometime!
When you do, please make sure to say hi to
Mido—not just me.
It's pretty late, and I'm starting to get a
little sleepy...
Ever since you left the forest, the other Kokiri
help keep your house all neat and tidy.
That means your bed is always ready for you
whenever you visit!
...
I can't hear Saria... Maybe she can't talk right now?
Hey, where are you right now?
Hm? You're nearby?!
Let's meet up and talk! Hee hee!
Hey... Listen...
I've been wanting to tell you that you will always
have a place to return to.
Once your adventure is over, you can come
back to Kokiri Forest!
Hee hee! Good luck, Link!
The battle should be over...but something still
doesn't feel right.
Be careful, Link.
Link!
The sages...and I... We all believe in you.
You can do it!
Scene 146
You found a letter inside the bottle.
To the person who finds this letter: Help!
I'm trapped inside Lord Jabu-Jabu's belly!
—Ruto, Princess of the Zora
PS: Please, PLEASE don't tell my father!
Scene 147
That scared me!
Hey, hey...
You bored?
What're you doing...
Having fun?
Oh, wow... Elegant mask.
Oh, wow... Cool mask.
Oh, wow... Lovely mask.
Hey... Where can I buy an elegant mask
like that?
Hey... Where can I buy a cool mask like that?
Hey... Where can I buy a lovely mask like that?
Hey. Let me wear that elegant mask.
Hey. Let me wear that cool mask.
Hey. Let me wear that lovely mask.
Whoa... What a lovely young lady. Wait, that's
a mask.

Hmph. Yeah, yeah. You would've beaten me even
without wearing something so outlandish. I know.
I've been bested!
I've been bested...
Woe is me...
Watch it!
Hey...
Stop it...
Now I'm nothing more than a spirit...
I won't attack you anymore. Just please don't
bottle me up.
Haven't you had enough? Go away, already...
Ugh... Now I'm nothing more than a spirit...
I'd raise my hands to surrender...but I don't exactly
have any, being a spirit and all.
Well, this is rather grave, isn't it... Clearly I
shouldn't have meddled with such a strapping lad.
That was a grave fight... Which, you know, is fine.
I do love graves and graveyards.
I swear I won't lay a finger on you... Not that I
could, what with the lack of fingers...
I wash my hands of this madness... Though, I
guess that'd be a bit challenging, since I don't
have hands anymore...
I want to crawl into a hole... Or my own grave.
What possessed you to take me on? Or rather...
who possessed you?
My mood is six feet under...
I sense a rather large presence... Could it be that
you captured a big poe? Perish the thought...
I sense the presence of my floating brethren...
Could it be, you have captured a comrade?
Don't tell me you intend to capture me too...
Now, come on... Can't I rest in peace during
the day?
Now, come on... Isn't it sleepy time for someone
like you?
Nothing good will come of capturing me.
I sense a large and looming presence from you...
By any chance, have you captured a big poe?
How dreary...
I sense a looming presence from you... By any
chance, did you capture my comrade? I suppose
you'd like to capture me too? Ugh...
Boo... Now I'm nothing more than a spirit.
I won't cause any more trouble, so please don't
bottle me...
Hm? Do you still need something?
No good will come of capturing me.
You surprised me... And now I'm nothing more
than a spirit...
You intend to capture me? Please let me go.
Surely your heart is as vast as this field...
Don't stuff me into a bottle... I prefer the freedom
of open spaces.
Want to do a three-legged race to the end of this
field? Come to think of it...I suppose it would
simply be a two-legged race.
This field is really big, isn't it? I always wanted to
be a big poe in a big field...
I'm not giving up. I'll keep kicking and screaming
till the bitter end...
Although, it might be more effective if I had legs.
I'm still not tired? No rest for the ghostly,
I suppose.
Do you know about big poes? They're super big,
superfast poes. Think they've got big spirits too?
Phew, my legs are tired from all that running.
Hang on... I don't have legs.
I sense a large presence... Could it be? Did you
capture a big poe? I hope not...
Hm, I sense a kindred aberration... Have you
caught one of my comrades?
Do you intend to do the same to me?
OK, nap time. Shoo, please.
Time to do some wistful gazing at the starry
beyond. Shoo, please.
I'm sensing a very large floating friend... Did you
capture a big poe? That's upsetting...
I sense a wispy presence from you... By any
chance, did you capture my comrade? Do you
intend to do the same to me? Not nice...
What happened? You're not going to catch me?
Kids these days. Wouldn't recognize a good thing
if it hit them smack in the face.
What happened? Aren't you going to catch me?
Or maybe you don't have anything to catch
me with.
You're pretty good at keeping pace with me. Now
give me my due respect and don't capture me.
This field is my turf. I'm surprised anyone other
than me can keep pace with me on my turf.
What a great race—it really enlivened me! Alright,
do with me what you will.
I'll run until my legs give out. Which gives me an
advantage, since I don't have any.
Keeping up with me is a pretty big deal. Maybe
you're a bit of a big deal too.
I'd give you a high five, but, well...that might
prove difficult.
Well, that was fun. The two of us were like a
breeze blowing through Hyrule together.
I guess I owe you kudos, since you were able to
keep up with me.
Such speed... It's as if you and your horse
were one...
You've got style—I'll give you that. So I don't much
mind being caught by you.
Huh? Do you intend to drink me?
NooOOooOoo!
Wait a sec—
You don't really intend to DRINK me, do you?
Stop it! I'm...
